Prague…
How many people will have a pleasant warmth in their hearts ,as they hear the name of this magnificent city, I don’t know, but I’m the one of them .Arriving at the europenian city at Christmas eve could be a hassle, but not in Prague .Sluggish people were passing the custom. ,and it was good felling of emptiness. I’ve took my bag and darted through the gates, to the airport. The taxi driver was holding a sheet of paper with my name and was trying to be helpful. The night Prague flew behind a window, I was trying to see anything through darkness, but did see nothing interesting. In twenty minutes we arrived in the hotel,it seemed as a latest hotel gig in the city..I’ve droped the bag and went to look around. The tranquillity in the air was sharp,I even could hear the sound of quiet in my head. The snow was falling softly, embracing the pavement. The lights in the windows seemed,so native and warm and I felt for a second, that’s my home and I’m expected back soon. The statues, sculptures on the building are reawakening the feeling of some mystery in medieval Europe. Your imagination may take a trip and you may see old carriage, with man in robes, carrying Black’s Death victims,or you turn behind a corner and will see some scene from the old times. Streets was quet empty, considering the size of the city with London for instance. It was about 4 c.Little groups of tourists were passing by,but towards the city centre was getting more crowded, and I’ve even spotted few wonderers with cameras and tripods as me.Tiny, twisted streets was lit by the old lamps,. the feeling of adventure was starting to overwalm me.By the time I’ve took some shots,I’ve started to feel chilly, dint expect it to be so cold, or simply didn’t prepared. So,I flew back , embraced in the open arm of the hotel. My first date with Prague happened and I was pleased with it.The time to explore was ahead!
In the day light the city striked me with fascinating architecture ,throwing me back to centuries. City into the City. Narrow, slipping streets taking you all over old cities on the magical adventure into the past .Antic set up of the taverns and café, strikes right after the architecture. My journey in the Prague unfolds.I have a pleasant confusion in my eyes which ,makes me play with my imagination.Twisted arches are hanging above my head, hidden café and little shops are sinking in the mouths of the buildings.I was surrounded my the miniature doors, with antic knobs and tiny cute windows on the colourful walls. The whole city is drawing in the magical aura of the old days. The fall of communismin 1989 and Velvet revolution pushed the country into free market relations, and becoming the EU member was a task for them I guess, and from my point of view and what I saw,I can say they did well. No more grey streets and dull mood ,instead, colourful burst of life. The city has its original character, spirituality, wisdom and the history going back many centuries. And you know? ,this city is alive.
Prague inviting people to explore its mysteries, showing the best to offer. People with sense of adventure and romantism will be really fascinated with Prague. Lazy trams running through the city. People had to check their tickets as soon the get in,but nobody does as one local told me. Generally, relaxed and common life is running in the Prague’s veins, the city didn’t have a blood renewal for a long, that’s why it’s keeping real face and genius spirit.
The whole idea of mine was an instant impulse and opportunity to take a good shots. Shame it was a Christmas time, and a lot of things I’ve just missed. But I can’t wait for another chance and take that magnificent voyage in the past ,and to dive in world of Prague’s magic. |
